Third Body Recovered from Houston Bayous This Week, Authorities Say

Authorities recovered a body from Buffalo Bayou on Wednesday, marking the third such discovery in Houston waterways this week, according to KHOU 11.

Houston police said a pedestrian reported seeing the body, prompting a response from Central Patrol officers and the Houston Fire Department Dive Team. The man’s identity and cause of death have not been released.

The recovery follows two others Monday morning in Buffalo Bayou and Brays Bayou. Police said there is no indication the cases are connected. So far in 2025, 34 bodies have been recovered from Houston-area bayous, nearly matching last year’s total of 35, according to KHOU 11.
