Elon Musk Seeks To Dodge Testimony In Defamation Lawsuit

Elon Musk is trying to block a motion that would make him testify in a defamation lawsuit against him, alleging he helped spread conspiracy theories on X/Twitter.

According to the Austin American-Statesman, Musk is asking a Travis County judge to block a motion requiring him to testify in the case against him, and to turn over his internet search and X/Twitter history.

Musk is being sued by 22-year-old Benjamin Brody, a California man who alleges that the billionaire helped spread conspiracy theories about him, saying that Brody -a Jew- was disguised as a neo-Nazi at a rally in Portland as part of a “false flag” operation. Musk, allegedly, would have endorsed accusations saying that Brody was a federal agent, causing users to attack and harass him.

In a filing with the Travis County court, Musk said the request for his testimony was a “transparent attempt to harass him” and asked the judge to block the request for his Internet search history.

Musk says his internet search history will help show that the posts published were defamatory and that the billionaire acted with malice.

Mark Bankston, a Houston-based attorney, is leading the lawsuit on behalf of Brody. Bankston has experience with similar lawsuits, winning a $45 million defamation lawsuit against conspiracy theorist Alex Jones last year.
