Soccer fans across Texas are gearing up for a historic summer as Houston and Dallas prepare to host matches during the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The official draw set the stage for the largest World Cup ever, featuring 48 teams competing across 104 matches in the U.S., Canada, and Mexico.
Houston will host seven matches at NRG Stadium—temporarily renamed Houston Stadium for the tournament—including group stage games, a Round of 32 match, and a Round of 16 fixture. The first Houston match will kick off on June 14, when Germany faces Curaçao.
Meanwhile, Dallas Stadium in Arlington, Texas, will host nine matches, including four knockout games, positioning it as a critical venue for the latter stages of the tournament. The stadium, which seats 94,000 fans, will host five group-stage games, two Round of 32 matches, one Round of 16 tie, and the first semi-final on July 14, 2026.
With top teams scheduled to play in both cities, Texas is poised to become a major hub of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, offering fans from across the globe unforgettable matches in two iconic stadiums.
