UT Police Will Be Backup, Not Enforcers, of COVID-19 Rules

As students and university employees prepare for an academic year like no other, the University of Texas at Austin has announced that enforcement of its social distancing guidelines and other safety rules will primarily be done by faculty and staff members.

The university police department will be called in if there is a criminal violation, KXAN reported.

“Wearing recommended protective face masks at all times when inside university buildings will be mandatory except when alone in a private office, eating in a campus dining facility or when students are in their own residence hall rooms. Recommended protective face masks are encouraged outdoors,” a message from the Office of Dean of Students states.

If you have a behavior concern, you can contact the dean of students
