Queen Of Christmas Challenged By An ‘Ebenezer Scrooge’ Bar In Dallas

There is a New Grinch in town and it goes by the name of Stoneleigh P bar. But instead of waging a war against the citizens of Whoville, it has directed all its firepower against the Queen of Christmas herself, Mariah Carey.

As reported by Texas Monthly, The bar decreed Mariah Carey’s 1994 superhit, “All I Want for Christmas is You” is unwelcomed in its establishment before December first. As revealed in an October 22 viral tweet from critic Kyle Smith, the establishment argued the song’s ubiquity disrupts waitstaff. Once the clock strikes midnight at the end of this month, the song can be played, but only once per night.

In response to the tweet asking “Is this the war on Christmas I’ve heard about?” Carey tweeted a photo of herself clad in battle armor, indicating she is ready for a fight, likely to be reached at octaves the residents of Dallas could only dream of.

Obviously not ready to go into battle with Carey, the general manager of Stoneleigh P, said in a statement that she did not hate Mariah Carey or Christmas, and that the sign banning early spins of Carey’s track was meant to be lighthearted.
