Elon Musk and Billie Eilish briefly clashed online this week after the singer used her Instagram platform to criticize the billionaire’s growing wealth and influence.

According to the Rolling Stone, Eilish shared a series of infographics from the activist movement My Voice, My Choice on her Instagram Stories highlighting how Musk could theoretically use portions of his wealth to address global issues. The posts claimed he could “end world hunger” by contributing $40 billion annually through 2030 and provide “clean water” globally for $140 billion per year for seven years.

Alongside the graphics, Eilish called Musk a “pathetic pussy bitch coward”.

Eilish’s posts followed remarks she made at the WSJ Innovator Awards, where she questioned why billionaires were hoarding wealth during a time when “people need empathy and help more than, kind of, ever.” As reported by Rolling Stone, she also announced she would donate $11.5 million from her Hit Me Hard and Soft tour to various charities.

Musk eventually responded on X with a brief reply:

The exchange quickly triggered strong reactions from supporters on both sides, with some defending Eilish’s message about wealth inequality and others challenging the feasibility of the proposed solutions or pointing out that Musk’s net worth is largely non-liquid.

As UNILAD Tech noted, Musk’s retort also arrived as he continues to pursue an unprecedented valuation milestone through a substantial Tesla pay package that could potentially make him the first trillionaire if the company’s market cap were to increase sixfold.

Despite the online back-and-forth, neither party has issued further comments, leaving the brief but intense exchange.
