“Basically, We’ve Outlawed Abortion In Texas”: Texas Governor Greg Abbott

Gov. Greg Abbott has finally admitted that his recent bill regarding reproductions rights is a complete ban on abortion.

Reporter Lauren Windsor, an executive producer and creator of The Undercurrent, seized the opportunity to ask the Governor some questions concerning reproductive rights in the state of Texas:

“Can you do something about morning-after pills birth control, ‘cause I think it’s destroying the fabric of our society, giving women incentives to me promiscuous? Windsor said.

Abbott replied he had already signed two more laws on that and added he had basically outlawed abortion in Texas. When asked about birth control he said he didn’t know, although he didn’t seem that much against the idea.

Finally, the Governor congratulated the pair of journalists for being “so pro-life”

Abbott’s words will definitely resonate with most pro-choice and women’s rights groups, considering he had been claiming abortion had not been made illegal in the state.

“Obviously, it provides at least six weeks for a person to be able to get an abortion” he had previously said.
