On Sunday, Don Huffines said he would give the Lone Star State it’s “swagger back,” and also promised the Dallas Cowboys another Super Bowl ring…
Huffines made these promises in a political advertisement that he aired during the Cowboys game against the Arizona Cardinals.
In the ad the Dallas Republican made clear he was done “losing to conservative states like Florida.” He featured clips of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ Super Bowl win last year, only to showcase that “Florida is kicking our butt.”
“It’s embarrassing,” Huffines continued. “They’re beating us with their leadership and they’re winning Super Bowls.”
Huffines served in the Texas Senate from 2015 until 2019, when he was defeated for re-election by Democrat Nathan Johnson. Next year, he is one of the GOP primary challengers Gov. Greg Abbott is facing, as reported by the Houston Chronicle.
If elected, Huffines promises to stop undocumented immigration over Texas’ southern border and vows to return prayer to Texas schools.
“Our best days are yet to dawn, it’s time we got our swagger back,” Huffines said.
