Brad Buckley Wins Texas House District 54 Election

In a key race for Texas House District 54, incumbent Republican Brad Buckley has secured re-election, defeating Democratic challenger Dawn Richardson.

At the time this article was published, Buckley had received 32,040 votes (62.4%) to Richardson’s 19,316 votes (37.6%).

Buckley, who authored a controversial public education funding bill last session that included a voucher provision, maintained strong support from conservative organizations, receiving key endorsements from Texas Sands PAC, Texans for Lawsuit Reform, and TXOGA PAC.

House District 54, which covers half of Bell County, including most of Killeen, remains a Republican stronghold despite growing political competition in the area. Buckley’s incumbency and legislative experience, combined with backing from well-established conservative PACs, solidified his position as the preferred candidate.

This victory ensures another term for Buckley, reinforcing Republican control in a district where public education and voucher debates played a central role.
